SISD Bad Weather Days become Instructional Days

Due to icy weather during the winter causing school closures, Stephenville ISD must now use both Bad Weather Days as instructional days. So, students WILL have school on Monday, May 19th and Monday, May 26th. All campuses will run regular school hours on both days.

Credit-by-exam for credit recovery (see Board Policy EHDB [Legal] and [Local]) or advancement (see Board Policy EHDC [Legal] and [Local] will be administered January 13 - 24, 2014. If interested, contact the campus counselor by December 6, 2013.

Critical Bus Transportation Update

Until further notice, please be advised of the following afternoon only bus schedule changes for SISD:

Students now assigned to ride Bus 16 will be riding Bus 8 for after school pickup and delivery.

Bus 26 will not run in the afternoons. Instead please note:

Central Pre –K students riding to either, Hook, Chamberlin or Gilbert will ride Bus 4 to those campuses

Central Kindergarten students riding to either, Hook, Chamberlin or Gilbert will ride Bus 11 to those campuses.

Hook Third Grade Students riding to either Chamberlin or Gilbert will ride Bus 14 to those campuses.

Hook Fourth Grade Students riding to Chamberlin or Gilbert will ride Bus 12 to those campuses.

Chamberlin First Grade Students riding to Gilbert will ride Bus 5 to Gilbert.
Chamberlin Second Grade Students riding to Gilbert will ride Bus 1 to Gilbert.
Any other student previously riding Bus 26 will now ride Bus 25.

Parents wishing to request family members to be placed on the same bus may call Debbie Hummel at 254-968-7990 to inquire about a change. These calls must be made prior to 2:00 pm on any day.

Calling All Artists

Students enrolled in SISD have an opportunity to submit ONE art piece for the SISD Student Art Showcase to be held at the Texas Association of School Administrators and Texas Association of School Boards convention at the Dallas Convention Center in September 2013.

Students DO NOT have to be enrolled in an art class in order to participate in this contest. Not all pieces submitted will be in the exhibit in Dallas, but ALL pieces will be exhibited in the November art show at SHS.

Please read the instructions for submission attached below carefully as artistic integrity as well as craftsmanship will be the guidelines for selection.

Stephenville City Police Officers to Visit SISD Campuses

Stephenville City Police Officers will begin visiting all SISD campuses on a regular basis. This initiative, in response to the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, is an effort for the police department to become more proactive and be better prepared to respond should an emergency arise on a campus. The officers will be visiting the campuses at varying times of the day to be seen as a regular presence on the campuses, to learn the layout of the buildings and to become familiar with the campus personnel. SISD administration is very appreciative of the additional support provided by the police department.

Own a Piece of Stephenville History

Stephenville ISD Education Foundation is now taking pre-orders for recovered bricks from Central and Chamberlin Elementary Schools. Each recovered brick can be purchased for $15.00 and will be packaged and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
